For The Women Who Choose Not To Settle...

When I was 10 years old, I made a decision that changed my entire life.

It started as a single goal: get out of the hood.

Getting out of the hood expanded into get out of the hood and get a good paying job.  Get a good paying job turned into go to college and dive into a career.  Go to college and dive into a career was remixed into go to college and dive into a career- and then a second career

If I had listened to some of the people around me- even the people in authority, I would have settled into a life that was far from where I know (for sure) I was meant to be. Instead, I listened to the people who had already gotten out. I listened to people who saw the potential in me- and overlooked the place I was in.  I read books, attended conferences, and studied the lives of my mentors.

I looked for people who had what I wanted and asked them how to get it.

I decided that I would be who God created me to be and nothing less.

    I chose not to settle.

A good life doesn't just happen. It happens with a daily decision to wake up and not settle.

Every time you decide to set a goal... To ask for more. To believe in yourself. To dream big. To expect the impossible. To beat the odds. To overcome. To change. To create. To believe. To hope... You are deciding NOT to settle.

There is no joy in settling.

You will spend the rest of your life wishing you would have made another choice, wondering what you should have done instead… and longing for what could have been something special, if only you had followed your heart.

Settling is not an act of nobility.  Settling is an act of treason.

When you settle, you betray your heart.  You forfeit your dream life.

So basically... DON'T YOU DARE SETTLE.

*For the women who choose NOT to settle...

I have created a pretty awesome interview series. I've asked some women that I really admire to share their own stories of NOT settling, as well as some advice on how you can choose not to settle in life, love, business, and personal health/wellness.

Join me next week as I share my interview with the founder of a really great organization that has been inspiring me, daily, for months now.

    Until next time, Love...

And the process that it will take you to get it, will be worth it."
